High Street looking towards the top of town

High Street looking towards the Top Of Town.

Taken: 2002

Photo taken at the top end of the High Street- usually referred to as the 'Top Of The Town'.
It shows the Leisure Centre, which stands upon the site where Angel Place once stood.
My Mum was living at Angel Place at the time(sometimes called Angel Square),
staying with the James family, Graham, David, Rose, Carol, Albert, Esther
(and 1 more girl who I forget the name of, sorry!)and their parents, Ethel and Albert senior.
At the right-hand side of Angel Place was an alleyway, (in Cruxwell Street) leading to other houses.
My Grandmother (Florence- Nee Davis) lived there, opposite a blacksmith shop.
Compare this to the photo beneath it. I don't know when it was taken, early 1920's possibly.
It shows the same view of Angel Place.
This photo can be found in the book entitled 'Bromyard, Round And About'
and was published by Bromyard and District History Society.
